DAMIEN MARTINEZHey y’all! My name is Damien Martinez and I am so excited for this next year serving as one of the Fundraising Co-Directors alongside my bestie Sam Sim. I am currently a Track 1 Sophomore - I am really excited to get that hands-on nursing experience. I am originally from the LA area and have always loved San Diego. Being at SDSU has been one of the best experiences, SNA, especially has allowed me to develop a caring as well as friendly nursing family from all different grades.
Besides SNA, I am also involved in a variety of other on-campus organizations such as SDSU Ambassadors, Rotaract, Vice-President of the CHHS College Council Executive Board, and a Residential Advisor. I love meeting new people and talking about the randomest things. If you don’t see me scrolling around campus with my Airpods in then I am most likely at a concert. Yes, I will spend all the money in the world for a concert. Money is temporary, concerts are a once in a lifetime experience! A fun fact about me is I camped out 22 hours to get box office tickets for SZA when she performed at Viejas Arena. Besides being sleep deprived and sunburnt, I was able to get second row seats! If not at a concert, then I am most likely trying new food places around San Diego. I am so excited to see what is in store this next year and to make amazing merchandise designs. We can’t wait to see everyone repping SDSU SON merch and to show how amazing SNA is. If you ever want to get Happy Lemon or go to a concert please let me know! Hi everyone! My name is Sam Sim and it is so nice to meet you! I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as one of your directors of fundraising for this upcoming school year with my co-director Damien Martinez! SNA has made such a positive impact on my journey here at SDSU, so I am excited to be part of the board this year.
So a little bit about me! Ever since I was little, I have always wanted to be in the healthcare field. I have always had a big passion for learning all things healthcare related (in high school I was part of a health career academy). With that being said, I am so grateful to be able to be part of the amazing nursing program here at San Diego State (it was my dream school). I have loved my experience in this program and with SNA and I look forward to continuing learning and developing the skills I need for my future nursing career. My parents are both nurses and I am inspired by them and the amazing work that they do. Nursing is the profession I have always wanted to be a part of and I am so excited to have a career that allows me to help others. For my involvement on campus, I have been a part of SNA since my first year, and I have loved my experience with this organization. They provide so many opportunities and fun events for nursing majors here on campus. And allows you to connect with so many other nursing majors! Furthermore, I was also part of the Leadership Summit Student advisory board this year! Next year, I will also be working at the STAR center here on campus as a Star Center assistant, so if you need any assistance in planning your class schedule I would be happy to help! And lastly here are some random fun facts about me. I love to read, paint, and listen to Taylor Swift. I was a swimmer for 13 years and I am so grateful for the experience I had in that sport. I have a little dog named Kai and I love him. I love my family very much and am very thankful for there constant love and support. Finally, I am so excited to meet you all and to be a director of fundraising this year! You can reach us at sdsusnafundraising@gmail.com |
