JOnathan EppertHello everyone, my name is Jonathan Eppert and I am a Track 2 Junior from San Diego, CA. I am so jazzed to be serving as your Breakthrough to Nursing Co-Director this year and can't wait to get to work recruiting future nurses from our local community!
Through the Breakthrough to Nursing position, we hope to continue outreach through presentations and skills demonstrations at local middle schools, high schools, and community colleges. By fostering relationships within our community, we aim to empower and inspire the next generation of nurses, ensuring that our neighborhoods are supported by dedicated healthcare professionals who share our values and commitment to service. Outside of SNA, I have actively been involved volunteering as a camp counselor with Oncology and Kids, a non-profit that provides summer camps and activities through the year for former pediatric cancer patients and their siblings. I also am a part of leadership for Rady Children's Hospital's SOMBFAB (Some of My Best Friends Are Bald) cancer support group. One of my biggest hobbies outside of school is hiking and camping which I try to squeeze in during the hectic school year by volunteering with the Sierra Club's ICO (Inspiring Connections Outdoors) program which helps create outdoor equity by providing children with limited access to outdoor excursions with hiking trips and even snorkeling outings! On campus, I am involved with Alpha Kappa Psi and have fundraised for Dance Marathon the past two years. If you have any questions for Nathan or I, or are looking to get more involved with BTN events don't hesitate to reach out! |
Nathan NguyenHi everyone! My name is Nathan, and I am a Track 1 Junior and I am so excited to be your Co-Director of Breakthrough to Nursing this year! I have been so thankful for the opportunities and experiences that I have been able to gain through SNA over the past two years and happy that I can finally give back to the club and our community.
BTN has been something that I have been greatly involved in since starting here at SDSU and I am grateful that I am now at the helm of this committee. As future nurses, we have to practice being advocates and one way we can start is by reaching out to our community, and especially those who are interested in following our footsteps. We have a wonderful opportunity with this committee to offer our wisdom and help those who wish to pursue nursing by sharing our experiences. That is why I hope to grow and bolster this committee in the upcoming school year! Outside of SNA and school, I am also an RA for the on-campus residential communities, a Project Manager for Pacific Review, a literary journal, and a part of VSA's ACE program (Big/Little). In my free time, I love going to coffee shops and discovering new places to eat - hit me up for food recs! You can reach us at [email protected] |
