Kanyada DoughtyHi everyone!!
My name is Kanyada Doughty and I am a Track 2 Junior from Salinas, CA. As a recent transfer to SDSU, I am beyond thrilled to become more involved this 2024-2025 school year as Communications Director alongside my Co, Gabrielle Farrales. In addition to my involvement in SNA, I am also a Co-Director of Diversity in Alpha Phi International Fraternity (Gamma Alpha Chapter) and serve as an active member of SDSU Friends of MSF, with experience on the Marketing Committee and Service Learning Trip Committee. This Fall 2024, I will be continuing my work as a research assistant for the School of Nursing, as well as begin working as an ISA for NURS 206 Lab. Recently, I have been living by the motto of trying new things and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. Since moving to San Diego, I have been more involved than ever before, and hope to convey this in my work for SNA. Moreover, I aim to bridge the gap between nursing at the national workforce level and student level by providing thoughtful reflections on the nursing profession, while encompassing student activities. Aside from academia, I enjoy swimming, hiking, lifting, traveling, and reading. One fun fact about me is that I have dual citizenship in the United States and Thailand. Nursing school is challenging, but it provides for the unique opportunity for individuals to learn not only through the textbook, but through insightful interactions with patients from all different kinds of backgrounds. It is important to remember this, and to also have fun and practice balance through school! Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns along your journey! |
Gabrielle FarralesHello hello lovely people! My name is Gabrielle Farrales, but you can call me Abbie, and I'm a Track 1 Junior from Chula Vista, CA. I am incredibly elated to serve as one of your Co-Communication Directors for the 2024-2025 term alongside Kanyada Doughty!
I have been a member of SNA since my freshman year and while I may not have been as active as others, I was still able to experience the vast opportunities that this organization opened the door to. That being said, I have made it a goal to be more involved this coming year while showcasing the beauty of SNA and all that one can achieve within this amazing community.
