PATRICK CLAVILLAS
What's good y'all! I'm Patrick Clavillas, your favorite Track 1 Junior, Legislative Director, 206 TA, whatever you know me as, and I'm running to be your next SNA President! After becoming one of your current Legislative Directors, I further developed my skills in leadership, advocacy, and most importantly confidence. Together with the passion I have for creating an environment where nursing students like all of you can thrive in, I will fulfill some goals I have for the following year: reinforce a stronger sense of community to prevent fellow nursing students feel isolated, keep all of you in the loop about opportunities that will greatly benefit any one of you in your future profession, and have everyone's 2024-2025 SNA experience end off with a bang (you don't have to be a senior for this to happen!!!) Let's run it back SNA and remember to vote Patrick Clavillas for President! |
SUMMER SANCHEZ
Hi, my name is Summer Sanchez and I’m currently a Track 2 Sophomore Cohort Representative. I have been an active member of SNA throughout the school year and readily participate in various SNA events and fundraisers. If I’m elected as a Legislative Director, I plan to explore topics such as poor treatment from staff nurses in travel nursing and the stressful costs of nursing school and offer reasonable solutions that can be developed into policy. I plan to potentially pass a resolution on a critical subject such as these at the CNSA convention in the fall semester and with thorough research, consideration, and collaboration with my Co-Director, effectively pull apart any disparaging counterarguments the delegates throw at us to ensure it's approved! I hope to be one of your Legislative Directors so I can bring attention to these relevant topics and facilitate change and growth within the nursing community! |

Nurses need great leaders, and I plan to be just that - let's have a great and successful year! |

PATRICK DELA ROSA
Hey guys! I’m Patrick but you can call me Pat and I am a 2nd year in track 1 from San Diego. I am excited to be running with Gabrielle Farrales as Co-communication director this upcoming term. Some ideas we have are to continue to provide more opportunities for students to be featured on vital signs or in the newsletter, showing the FUN in nursing and the real side of things as well, and continue to maintain the social media platforms to increase membership and participation. Allow us to keep you updated and showcase your jouRNey while creating more memories! |
NATHAN NGUYEN
Greetings, everyone! I'm Nathan Nguyen, a First-Year Nursing Student in Track 1, and I'm excited to throw my hat in the ring for the role of Breakthrough to Nursing Director for the 2024-2025 school year. My journey with BTN has been incredibly fulfilling, and I'm eager to give back by leading this committee. While I may be new to leadership within SNA, I bring valuable experience as a Resident Advisor of Huaxyacac Hall and as a Project Manager for SDSU Press’ literary journal, the Pacific Review. With dedication and enthusiasm, I am committed to providing you all with an array of meaningful opportunities and events. Your support for Nathan is an investment in a dedicated leader who will make the most of every opportunity. |
JONATHAN EPPERT
Hi everybody! My name is Jonathan and I am running to be your co-director of Breakthrough to Nursing with Nathan. I am very passionate about serving future generations and plan to be a pediatric oncology nurse post-graduation! I hope to incorporate those same passions and skills into the Breakthrough to Nursing co-director position by implementing middle school and community college presentations alongside Nathan and spreading the word about SDSU's SON program and nursing as a whole. Some of my past and current involvements include being the VP of Philanthropy for Alpha Kappa Psi (F23), on leadership for Some of My Best Friends Are Bald (pediatric oncology support group at Rady Children's), a camp counselor for Oncology and Kids (summer camp and year round weekend camp for pediatric oncology patients), and volunteer for Sierra Club San Diego's ICO excursions (camping trips/hikes for elementary schoolers from San Ysidro that create outdoor equity by connecting youth with limited access to the outdoors). |
LAUREN DANG
Hi!! My name is Lauren Dang, I am a Track 2 Sophomore, an avid cartoon musical movie watcher, prudent nurse, and have a passion for fashion (except on exam days, just pretend like you didn't see me). I have a knack for fundraising as I have been doing it for the past 6 years in countless positions such as, VP of Fundraising for Alpha Kappa Psi professional business fraternity (Fall 2023), Merch Director for AKPsi (Spring 2023) (AKPsi stussy shirts), ASB Treasurer (Senior Year), and Class Treasurer (Sophomore and Junior Year) – in total, I have raised $1300 for Alpha Kappa Psi and $75,000 for my high school. I have learned the value of supporting an org through not only money, but as a way to unify members and generate a strong on-campus presence, with that I want to host more on campus events like Pie a Member or Professor! I am determined to support SNA by utilizing my outgoing, ambitious, patient, open-minded, and innovative mindset – I went to the locked in factory and they knew me. |
MARIA SOEGIHARTO
Hii! My name is Maria Soegiharto, and I’m a track 2 sophomore who loves exploring SD for new coffee shops to study at, going to concerts, and roasting in the sun (beach days>>>). I have lots of experience fundraising as I am currently Treasurer for the United Sorority and Fraternity Council on campus (2023-2024), where I have hosted in-person fundraisers and organized chapter dues for 17 organizations among other things. I have also been a Sponsorship Chair (Spring 2023), and a Recruitment Chair (Spring 2023) for Alpha Phi Gamma, so I have experience designing merch and an idea I have for next semester would be Essentials/Fear of God but make it SNA. I truly am passionate about getting our bread up because I want to help create a resourceful, tight-knit community without having to worry about money. If you do vote for me, we will in fact be up because I am a dedicated, compassionate, and friendly person who is committed to empowering others by networking with businesses and students in order to provide the best experience for SNA members. |
KAITLYN SHITAMOTO
Hey I'm Kaitlyn and I am running with Lance for the Fundraising Directors of 2024-2025! I'm a Track 1 Sophomore and I'm from the Bay! As an active member of SDSU's SNA since freshman year, I have participated and been involved in many of the events that are put on by this student-led organization. Being a part of SNA has given me so much--stronger relationships with my peers and so many opportunities to learn and grow--which is why I want to join board so I can give back to the organization that has provided me a space to thrive. While volunteering at the merchandise table during last year's pinning ceremony and helping pack the merchandise to distribute in the fall, I realized my desire to run for the position of Fundraising Director because the planning and organization that this role require are right up my alley as a chronic planner :D |
LANCE ARENAS

First off, my commitment to taking all the groceries in one trip is more than just a practical approach; it's a testament to my dedication and efficiency. SAMANTHA SIM
Hi y'all! My name is Sam Sim and I am so excited to have the opportunity to run for the Membership and Mentorship director position! I am currently a second year track 1 nursing student here at SDSU and I have loved every second of it (this was my dream school in high school) ! A big part of why I have enjoyed my experience here at SDSU so much is because this year I had the honor of being one of SNA’s fundraising directors, I work for the university as a STAR Center assistant in the dorms, I am one of the SNA Medical Tagalog teachers, and I also mentored three first year nursing students through SNA’s mentor and mentee program! Through being a member and a mentee my first year to now being a board member and a mentor this year, I have made lifelong memories and connections and I can wholeheartedly say being a part of this organization has truly created an amazing experience for me in nursing school which is why I would be extremely grateful if I have the opportunity to be one of the Membership and Mentorship directors with Lindsey this year! |
LINDSEY TRAN
Hi everyone I'm Lindsey, I am a Track 1 Sophomore, and I'm so excited to be running for your Membership and Mentorship Director! I hope to bring new ideas for ice breakers and mentor/mentee events, in order to encourage engagement during meetings as well as strengthen bonds between mentors and mentees. SNA has brought me numerous new friendships, experiences, and opportunities and I am adamant about having non-members sign up, so they don't miss these advantages in their nursing education! You can find me working at the Star Center in the residential communities tutoring for Anatomy and Chemistry and also the Track 1 Sophomore GroupMe because I am my track's Cohort Representative this year! So, with all that being said I am ready to serve as your M&M Director with my Co, Sam Sim!! |
EMILY PEHL
Hey, my name is Emily Pehl and I'm running to be a Co-Community Health Director! I decided to run for Community Health Director due to how much I enjoyed the role last term. Last term as Community Health Director my Co and I organized breast cancer awareness tabling, opioid crisis night, a Susan G. Koman fundraiser, a mental health awareness event and a fulfilling destiny fundraiser. If I get reelected, I want to use what I learned last term and expand! For instance, a second tabling opportunity, more fundraisers, and spreading more health awareness during meetings! |
ARUSHI KALAM
Hiii, my name is Arushi and I currently serve as your Co-Director for Community Health. I'm reapplying to this position to offer new diverse events for our community to learn about current health and social issues. This past year I had a great time working with you guys and our board in creating experiences for people to attend. My goal is to spread awareness because I want to help others know what's affecting their community. Thank you for your time, and I hope I'm able to support your nursing journey once again! |
DAMIEN MARTINEZ
Hey, my name is Damien and I am a track 1 Sophomore running to be your next year Global Initiative Director with my co-partner Emily! I would like to take the organization on a trip around the world by highlighting different cultures, whether that is having discussions about how to complete assessments for different patient demographics or eating some yummyyy food. Although I have not gotten the chance to travel the world yet, I would like to take mini "field trips" within our general body meetings by bringing the amazing traditions to you. One of my main goals is to continue spreading the importance of culture within not only SNA but nursing as well. I hope to take this trip together - so fasten your seat belt and prepare for take off as both Emily and I cannot wait to have another amazing year! |
EMILY HO
Hi!! My name's Emily, I'm a track 1 Sophomore, and I am so excited to be applying to be your Global Initiatives Director with Damien! Three words that myself and others would describe me are hard-working, kindhearted, and spontaneous. If I had all the money in the world, I would travel as many places as I could. I have visited many countries in my life including Japan and Singapore, and my favorite thing about traveling is learning and seeing how different each culture is from each other. My goal is to hopefully be able to spread cultural competency throughout the School of Nursing by promoting Medical Spanish and Introductory to Tagalog in the healthcare setting, bringing different culture's foods to meetings, or simply hosting events where you can learn about different cultures. |
